TCL‘s FFALCON sub-brand is adding a serious contender to the premium gaming and productivity monitor space with the new 32U8 — a 31.5-inch 4K display that promises high-end specs at a relatively affordable price point. The monitor is now listed for pre-sale on JD.com at 3,799 yuan (around $525), with official sales kicking off on April 16.

The Thunderbird 32U8 features a large 31.5-inch 4K panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a smooth 165Hz refresh rate. It comes with QD-Mini LED technology and equips 1,400 local dimming zones, each controlled by an AM driver for precise lighting control. The display sports a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and supports HDR 1400, with dedicated modes for gaming, movies, and desktop use.

It features exceptional color accuracy, shipping with Delta E < 2 factory calibration and pixel-level Demura tuning for uniform brightness and consistent colors. The monitor comes with wide color coverage, featuring 96% DCI-P3 and 99% sRGB, along with 10-bit color support (8-bit + FRC). It also sports a strong static contrast ratio of 4,000:1 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.

For gamers, it equips a 1ms GTG response time and features FAST HVA technology from Huaxing, designed to reduce motion blur and ghosting. It also comes with TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue light and flicker-free technology, along with 10kHz PWM dimming for comfortable long-term viewing.

The monitor sports a sleek gaming-focused design with dynamic “Light Wings” on the back. It comes with an ergonomic stand that supports tilt, height adjustment, swivel, and pivot functions, making it easy to position just right. The 32U8 also features built-in dual 3W speakers for convenient audio output.

In terms of connectivity, it equips dual HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, a Type-C port with 90W power delivery, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB 3.0 Type-B port, and a headphone jack. It also supports KVM switching, PIP, and PBP modes for multitasking.
