HP has launched the OMEN MAX 16 in India, a high-end gaming laptop engineered for power, speed, and AI-enhanced performance. It’s built around a 16-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 500 nits brightness, and 100% sRGB color coverage in a 16:10 ratio.
Under the hood, it packs Intel’s Core Ultra 9 275HX processor (up to 5.4GHz, 24 cores) and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU with 16GB VRAM. It ships with 32GB DDR5-5600 MHz RAM (upgradeable) and 1TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD storage.
HP’s Tempest Cooling Pro system keeps the machine cool using a vapor chamber, Cryo Compound, and a self-cleaning fan mechanism. Combined CPU-GPU TDP exceeds 250W, allowing for intense gaming sessions without performance throttling.
It runs on Windows 11 Home and includes OMEN Gaming Hub and OMEN AI Beta. OMEN AI automatically adjusts system settings based on gameplay, starting with support for Counter-Strike 2.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2.5 GbE LAN, 2× Thunderbolt 4, 2× USB-A, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45, combo audio jack, and an AC smart pin. It draws power from an 83Wh battery with a 330W adapter, offering a 50% fast charge in 30 minutes.
Other features include a DTS:X Ultra dual-speaker setup, per-key RGB backlit keyboard with NKRO Anti-Ghosting, HP True Vision 1080p FHD IR camera with privacy shutter, and dual-array mics with Windows Hello support.
The laptop weighs 2.68 kg and comes in Shadow Black with a sandblasted finish and RGB accents. Built sustainably, it uses ocean-bound plastics and recycled materials, and is ENERGY STAR and EPEAT Gold certified.

The OMEN MAX 16 is available on HP’s official online store and Amazon.in, with prices starting at Rs. 3,09,999 ($3,621) for the Shadow Black variant. The OMEN AI Beta is available globally.
