Redmi’s Turbo lineup is finally coming into its own. With the newly launched Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, Xiaomi has thrown down a bold statement: flagship-grade experience at a much lower price. But beyond the catchy launch slogans and Harry Potter collaborations, what exactly makes this device stand out?
Let’s break it down.

1. Seriously Upgraded Design
The Turbo 4 Pro’s design is a significant leap forward from what you usually expect at its price point. Redmi has ditched plastic frames completely, replacing them with a CNC-machined aerospace-grade aluminum alloy middle frame. The result is not just a better in-hand feel but also serious durability, the device boasts bending resistance up to 70 kilograms, enough for a Redmi executive to literally stand on it without damaging the phone.
The back of the phone features a frosted matte glass finish, polished down to a fine 700nm texture that makes it feel more like a premium flagship than a mid-range offering. With its ultra-narrow bezels (1.5mm on three sides, 1.9mm on the chin) and large 12.4mm R-corner curvature, the Turbo 4 Pro manages to look both sleek and distinctive from the front and back.
2. Display Tech That Punches Above Its Weight
For a phone priced this aggressively, the screen setup is impressive. The 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED panel isn’t just big, it’s bright up to 3200 nits, and supports Dolby Vision, 2560Hz instantaneous touch sampling, and 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for serious eye comfort.
Redmi is also pushing what it calls “Qingshan Eye Protection Technology” here, a combination of high-frequency dimming and DC dimming that has earned S++ certification for visual health. Whether you’re binge-watching shows or gaming for hours, the display is designed to minimize strain.
In short, this is one of the most advanced displays you’ll find outside of Xiaomi’s own ultra-premium models.
3. Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Inside
Under the hood, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro is among the first wave of phones to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. Built on a 4nm process, this chip delivers near-flagship performance, paired with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage options scaling up to 1TB.
To keep things cool, Redmi has added a massive 6000mm² dual-loop 3D vapor chamber cooling system, supported by its new Rage Engine 4.0 software optimizations. In practice, that should translate into consistent frame rates even during extended gaming sessions.
4. Harry Potter Magic for Fans
If you grew up on Harry Potter books and movies, there’s a special treat. The Redmi Turbo 4 Pro Harry Potter Edition is more than just a custom wallpaper. It features a slanted DECO camera layout, 3D-etched character silhouettes, and a Deathly Hallows-themed gift box. The customization extends to the software too, with magical-themed icons, charging animations, and wallpapers baked into HyperOS.
It’s pure fan service done thoughtfully, not just a skin-deep rebrand.
5. Big Battery, Big Charging
In the battery department, Redmi refuses to compromise. The Turbo 4 Pro packs a 7,550mAh cell that supports 90W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging. That means you’re looking at getting a full day of heavy usage easily, and when you do need to top up, it won’t take long.
Redmi also claims support for kilometer-level network-free communication, a niche but potentially life-saving feature that allows devices to communicate in emergencies without relying on traditional cellular networks.
6. New Value Benchmark
Starting at just 2,199 yuan (around $301) for the base model, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro might just be setting a new benchmark for what users should expect from a mid-range device. From its metal frame to flagship-grade display, serious cooling system, and massive battery, there’s a lot here that normally only shows up in phones costing twice as much.
And with the global version expected to launch soon under the Poco F7 branding, this might just be one of the most exciting smartphone releases of 2025 so far.
