Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is turning up the heat in the flagship killer segment once again. Just months after the initial launch, the company has dropped the price of its high-performance Redmi K80 Pro series by a full 400 yuan (around $55), with the base model now starting at just 3299 yuan (approx $455). And if that wasn’t enough to tempt value hunters, Chinese buyers can shave even more off with government subsidies, pushing the price below the 2900 yuan ($400) mark in some cases.

But don’t let the price fool you. This is still a flagship-class device through and through.

The Redmi K80 Pro is built around a custom 6.67-inch 2K AMOLED flat display co-developed with TCL. It’s a pixel-dense panel that reaches a searing 3200 nits of peak brightness and ticks at 120Hz, while supporting Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and full 12-bit color. Xiaomi also claims a 21% thinner bottom bezel and introduces an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, a first for the series.

Under the hood, the K80 Pro runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with a dedicated D1 gaming chip. This delivers a smooth high-refresh gaming experience with less thermal throttling, thanks to an upgraded circular vapor-liquid cooling system spanning 5400mm². It also comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The camera system stays ambitious, featuring a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main sensor with OIS, a 32MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP 2.5x telephoto shooter with macro chops. On the battery front, there’s a 6000mAh silicon-carbon cell that supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, all wrapped in an IP68/IP69-rated body with glass and metal trim.

The K80 Pro ships with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.0 and offers stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res audio, USB-C, and support for 19 5G bands via a new T1S signal chip.

In a nod to collectors, Xiaomi also offers a limited-edition Champion Edition of the K80 Pro with custom design elements and a themed box set in the top-tier 16GB + 1TB configuration.
