The Galaxy S25 Edge will lack the anti-reflective coating of the S25 Ultra, per a recent leak. This is because the S25 Edge does not use Gorilla Armor 2, which includes the coating. But what glass is Samsung using instead? Well, the company just confirmed its adoption of the latest Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 “for enhanced durability.” This new glass possibly lacks the anti-reflective coating.

According to Samsung, Corning has intrinsically embedded ceramic crystals within the glass matrix, which enhances drop resistance. Corning’s ion exchange process further improves the durability of Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.
Apple recently ran an ad campaign for its Ceramic Shield on the iPhone 16, suggesting it can be used without a screen protector or a case. Now here we are: Samsung will also likely include ceramic in its marketing materials for the S25 Edge.

As per a previous leak, the middle frame is also made of a titanium alloy, similar to the S25 Ultra, further hinting at the durability of this “razor-thin” device. In fact, Samsung is also including the word “titanium” in the color options. It’s clear that Samsung is positioning the S25 Edge as a slim yet durable flagship.
“With Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, we’ve achieved a remarkable combination of thinness and strength, giving consumers the best of both worlds — exceptional durability in a modern, sleek and premium design,” said Andrew Beck, Vice President and General Manager, Corning® Gorilla® Glass. “The craftsmanship of Galaxy S25 Edge with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 underscores Corning and Samsung’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of consumers worldwide.”
The phone is set to go official on May 13 at 9 AM Korean time, which is 5:30 AM in India. In the meantime, you can learn more about the rumored internal specifications here.
