HONOR has confirmed that the upcoming HONOR 400 Series will get 6 years of Android updates, starting with Android 14 and moving to Android 16 in 2025. The announcement comes just a day after Google I/O 2025 and highlights HONOR’s long-term software support strategy. The launch of the HONOR 400 Series is scheduled for May 22.

The HONOR 400 Series will include new AI features developed in partnership with Google. One key feature is image-to-video generation, which uses Google’s Veo 2 video model running on Google Cloud’s Vertex AI. Users will be able to turn still images into 5-second videos or moving photos. The tool works with real-life photos, AI-generated images, and old pictures. It also supports sharing across both Android and iOS.
HONOR says its close work with Google gives it early access to new Android releases. This helps its developers roll out updates faster and keep devices secure and up to date. For comparison, the HONOR 200 Pro previously received 4 major Android upgrades and 5 years of security patches.

HONOR also rolled out Android 16 Beta 3 to developers on the HONOR Magic 7 Pro starting May 7. Both the Magic 7 Pro and the Magic V3 will get Android 16-based MagicOS updates in 2025, along with the new HONOR 400 Series.
