Set to challenge the likes of Huawei’s Pura 80, the Magic8 Pro is reportedly being tested with a quad-camera system — one more camera than its predecessor. With a speculated dual telephoto setup, Honor seems ready to push the boundaries of mobile imaging.
According to Weibo tipster SmartPikachu, Honor is experimenting with four camera sensors for the Magic8 Pro, a bold step up from its predecessors. The setup is said to include a primary sensor, an ultrawide-angle lens, and—most intriguingly—two telephoto lenses, a design choice that echoes Huawei’s rumored dual periscope approach for the Pura 80. This dual-telephoto unit could give the Magic8 Pro an edge in versatility, offering superior zoom and macro capabilities.
Earlier leaks point to a 200MP periscope lens. This lens, paired with 1G+5P floating technology and a 1200-point laser radar focusing system, promises crisp, detailed shots, especially for macro photography.
Honor’s ambition doesn’t stop there. The Magic8 Pro’s camera system is expected to outshine the Magic7 series by a significant margin, which already boasted impressive macrophotography compared to Huawei’s Mate 70 Pro.
