Samsung is building anticipation for its next-generation foldables. A new official teaser hints that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature a dramatically slimmer and lighter design, alongside improved durability. The teaser doesn’t reveal everything but sets the tone for what could be a major step forward in foldable design.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be the thinnest Samsung foldable ever
The latest teaser describes the Galaxy Fold 7 as thinner, lighter, and more durable than its predecessor. While exact specifications haven’t been confirmed, internal testing and leaks suggest the phone may have a closed thickness of just 9mm and an unfolded profile as slim as 4.54mm — a notable drop from the Fold 6’s 12.1mm thickness. Although the phone may retain a slight camera bump, the overall form factor is expected to be significantly more pocketable.
Samsung has highlighted its intention to deliver a foldable that aligns with user demands for portability and ease of use. The design changes aim to make the Fold 7 more suitable for one-handed usage and everyday carry, addressing a common concern about earlier models being bulky and heavy.
An earlier teaser hinted at a possible “Ultra” version within the Fold series, something not seen in previous line-ups. If true, this could mark the beginning of a premium segment in Samsung’s foldable range.
While specific features remain under wraps, the company has suggested that the Fold 7 could bring “industry-first” technologies. The device is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Watch 8 series, and possibly more at the next Galaxy Unpacked event, likely to be held on July 10 globally.
