In an incredible real-world twist, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra has saved a life. A new report has surfaced about how the flagship Android smartphone acted as a shield by protecting a soldier from shrapnel. While durability tests are common, this unexpected turn of events showcases the S25 Ultra’s impressive build quality.
This Galaxy S25 Ultra Saved a Life
The South Korean tech giant’s top smartphone was credited with saving the life of a Ukrainian soldier. During the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the soldier was caught in a bombardment that sent shrapnel flying. However, the Ukrainian soldier survived after the Galaxy S25 Ultra acted as an armor plate, preventing the shrapnel from passing through.

Looking at the picture, we can see a sizeable hole being punched through the display, which still has pieces of the shrapnel. After acting as a titanium shield, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was left completely inoperational. The picture of the damaged Galaxy S25 Ultra recently surfaced on the Samsung Ukraine community forum. Reports claim that the Android flagship was barely three weeks old. But it still managed to save the user from a fatal blow.
In a positive twist, a local Samsung representative reportedly reached out to this soldier and offered to repair the life saving Galaxy S25 Ultra free of charge. Although, this is still unconfirmed at the moment. To recall, the Galaxy S25 Ultra features a titanium chassis along with Corning Gorilla Glass Armor 2 for added protection.
