Vivo has released a couple of high-resolution images of the Vivo X Fold 5 foldable phone, which is set to launch on June 25 in China. Additionally, one of the posters shared by the brand mentions all the key features of the device that the company has officially confirmed so far. It also confirms that it packs the largest battery on a foldable phone. Here’s a look at the details shared by the brand.

Vivo X Fold 5’s officially confirmed details summarized

Vivo’s Vivo President of Product Huang Tao, claims that the Vivo X Fold 5 will break the Vivo X Fold 3’s record of being the world’s lightest foldable phone, which weighs 219 grams. Reports suggest that it will weigh around 209 grams. It will also be one of the slimmest foldable phones as per reports, its thickness will be 4.3mm and 9.3mm in the unfolded and folded states, respectively.

Under the hood, the X Fold 5 houses a 6,000mAh Blue Ocean battery, which is said to be the most efficient battery in any foldable. This is also the largest battery seen on a foldable phone. Vivo has integrated fourth-generation silicon-carbon anode technology with up to 12 percent silicon content, and it is the company’s first to adopt second-gen semi-solid-state battery tech, enabling it to function even at minus 30 degrees Celsius.

The Vivo X Fold 5 is also said to be the first to come with triple protection, featuring water resistance at IPX8 and IPX9 levels, dust resistance with IP5X certification, and full operational durability even at minus 20 degrees Celsius. This makes it one of the most rugged and versatile foldables built for all-weather use.

The device will also cater to photography enthusiasts with a unique periscope telephoto lens, supporting both long-range zoom and telephoto macro shots. It enables full-focus portrait capabilities for a versatile imaging experience.

What stands out further is its unprecedented Apple ecosystem integration. Vivo claims the X Fold 5 is the first Android phone to connect seamlessly with Apple Watch, AirPods, iPhone calls, messages, and iCloud services. It also supports multi-device file transfer and productivity workflows with Mac, creating a highly connected environment for hybrid users.
