The Boat smartwatch introduces a contactless payment feature called Boat Pay, created in partnership with Axis Bank. It uses Tappy’s tokenization technology to let users link their Axis Bank Visa or Mastercard credit and debit cards through the Boat Crest Pay app.

Once configured, payments of up to Rs. 5,000 can be made without a PIN at any NFC-enabled POS terminal using the watch. The card information is securely stored within the watch strap, and regular reward points from the linked card are still earned.

Boat has also added a reward system called Boat Coins, which encourages users to stay active. Fitness milestones convert into redeemable coins that can be used for discounts on Boat products.

In related news, Boat has launched the Aavante Prime 5000DA, a 500W soundbar featuring a 6.5-inch subwoofer, Dolby Atmos support, and HDMI eARC connectivity. The company has also introduced the SmartRing Active Plus in India, equipped with health tracking features, 5ATM water resistance, and a battery life of up to 30 days.
