Motorola Android 16 update list

The stable version of Android 16 just went live last week for Google Pixels, and now Motorola has confirmed an initial list of devices set to receive this upgrade. It includes a lot of high-end phones but also a good number of mid-range smartphones from the Edge and Moto G series.

Motorola tends to gradually confirm the availability of the latest Android OS for its devices via its support website. So, if your device isn’t on the list, it could be added in the near future.

As of writing this post, 29 Motorola devices are officially confirmed to receive the Android 16 update. Here’s the complete list:

You can manually check the update’s eligibility for your Motorola device by visiting Motorola’s software support website and then selecting your device. The Next OS section has the required information. Here’s an example listing for the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus:

When will Motorola start rolling out Android 16 update?

While Motorola has confirmed initial details about the Android 16’s eligibility, it has not committed to a release date yet. The brand doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to quicker update rollouts, but Android 15 was fairly better.

Motorola also showed improvements in its update policy by promising up to 5 major Android updates for several devices, including mid-range phones. The brand is undoubtedly making improvements to its update rollout and update policy, but it’s too early to trust them. It still needs to do a lot of work to make software support a strong point for its devices.
