Acer‘s Predator brand has officially launched the GP30 RGB gaming portable SSD. The new solid-state drive features a compact aluminum alloy body and a transparent front window that displays dynamic lighting effects. The drive glows purple when idle and switches to a seven-color RGB cycle during read and write operations.

Acer Predator GP30 SSD Specifications
The GP30 RGB is built for high-speed data transfer and multi-platform compatibility. It uses a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C interface with up to 20Gbps bandwidth and supports sequential read and write speeds of up to 2000MB/s. Predator claims this is the most compact SSD in its speed category.
The drive works with USB-C and USB-A connections using the included dual-interface cable, ensuring compatibility with desktops, laptops, gaming consoles, and smartphones.
Acer has designed the GP30 RGB for users who need fast and reliable external storage across a range of tasks. It can handle large 4K and 8K video files, high-resolution game libraries, and professional-grade media workflows. The drive supports ProRes 4K video capture at 60 or 120fps, making it suitable for creators working with high-bitrate footage.

The SSD is available in four storage capacities: 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB. Its compact body measures 61.2 × 71.8 × 11.5 mm and weighs about 66.5 grams. The aluminum build offers both durability and portability, making it convenient for users who travel frequently or work across multiple locations.
Acer includes a licensed copy of Acronis True Image software with the GP30 RGB. The software supports system backups and secure data migration, adding utility for professionals managing sensitive files. The SSD also comes with a 5-year warranty.
