Red Magic has officially launched the Red Magic Astra Gaming Tablet for global markets, following its debut in China as the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro earlier this month. Targeted at gamers and power users, the tablet arrives with flagship hardware and features purpose-built for immersive gaming. It will be available in multiple configurations and regions, with early bird deals starting mid-July.

The Red Magic Astra comes with a 9.06-inch OLED display offering a sharp 2400×1504 resolution and a smooth 165Hz refresh rate. It reaches up to 1600 nits of peak brightness and features ultra-slim 4.9mm bezels, resulting in a 90.1% screen-to-body ratio. For eye comfort, the panel supports 5280Hz PWM dimming and is TÜV Rheinland certified for low blue light and flicker-free viewing.

The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, built on TSMC’s second-gen 3nm process. It works alongside the Red Core R3 Pro co-processor, which manages frame rate optimization, AI gaming enhancements, and super-resolution rendering. The tablet uses ultra-fast LPDDR5T RAM, offering up to 24GB at 9600Mbps, and UFS 4.1 Pro storage with options up to 1TB.

The Red Magic Astra runs on Redmagic OS 10.5 based on Android 15. The OS is customized for gamers and includes the Cube Game Engine, which manages performance, thermal output, and power optimization. It also brings PC emulator support, a Super Workbench productivity suite, and the Magic Companion 2.0 AI assistant.

On the imaging front, the tablet includes a 13MP rear camera for casual photography and scanning documents. On the front is an 8MP camera for video calls, livestreaming, and content creation, offering decent clarity and sharpness for its segment.

The tablet packs an 8200mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. According to Red Magic, it can reach 50% charge in just 22 minutes. It also supports bypass charging, which keeps temperatures in check during long gaming sessions by powering the tablet directly without stressing the battery.

The Red Magic Astra features dual symmetrical 1620 super-linear speakers with DTS:X Ultra tuning for rich, spatial audio. It also integrates dual X-axis linear motors to deliver responsive haptic feedback during gameplay. For precise touch input, the tablet uses a Synaptics S3930 controller with a 2000Hz touch sampling rate.

On the connectivity front, it supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2, along with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button for secure access.

Pricing and Availability

The Red Magic Astra is available in three configurations globally:

  • 12GB + 256GB: $549/€499/£439
  • 16GB + 512GB: $699/€649/£559
  • 24GB + 1TB: $899/€849/£739

It comes in Eclipse Black and Starfrost Silver colorways, while the 24GB version is offered in Eclipse Black only. The tablet will be available in regions including North America, Europe, the UK, Asia-Pacific, GCC, Latin America, and select others.

Early Bird Access starts July 15 via the Red Magic website, with open sales from July 16. Buyers who grab a $/€1 voucher between July 10-15 get a $/€30 discount, gaming finger sleeves, and a free 80W charger.
