Several reports have claimed that Tecno will soon launch the Spark 40 series of smartphones in various markets. Now, the brand has officially unveiled the Tecno Spark 40 in Uganda. Some of its key highlights include a 120Hz display, a large battery with 45W fast charging, and an IP64-rated dust- and water-resistant body. Here’s a look at the full specifications, features, and pricing of the device.
Tecno Spark 40 specifications and features
The Tecno Spark 40 features a 6.67-inch LCD punch-hole display that offers a 720 x 1600 HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For security, it is equipped with a side-facing fingerprint sensor. The phone runs on Android 15 with HiOS 15 on top.
In the camera department, the Spark 40 offers an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel rear camera, both paired with LED flash. For audio, the phone is equipped with dual speakers with DTS Sound support.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset. It comes with up to 8GB of physical RAM, up to 8GB of virtual RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. A 5,200mAh battery powers the phone and supports 45W fast charging for quick top-ups.
Connectivity options include dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, GPS, IR blaster, and a USB-C port. One unique feature is FreeLink, which uses Bluetooth to enable calls when there is no cellular coverage, within a 500-metre range. The Spark 40 is IP64-certified for dust and splash resistance, and it measures just 7.67mm in thickness.
Tecno Spark 40 price and availability
The Spark 40 is available in multiple variants, including 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB. In Uganda, it starts at UGX 47,900. The phone comes in four colour options: Ink Black, Titanium Grey, Veil White, and Mirage Blue.
