The latest talk of the town has shed light on some interesting rumors that talk about Valve’s next gaming handheld and a new home console. While there have already been reports surrounding the Steam Deck 2, Valve might be getting a surprising push from Sony that could help take its handhelds to the next level. So here’s everything you need to know.

Steam Deck 2 Leak: Zen 6 APU, New Valve Console, & Sony’s Silent Support

A new episode of the Broken Silicon podcast has reignited speculation around Valve’s hardware roadmap, and this time, it’s bigger than just a Steam Deck 2. Valve is reportedly developing a powerful next-gen handheld and a full fledged home console. One or both of these could be powered by AMD’s upcoming Zen 6 “Magnus” APU, which is also rumored to power the next generation of Sony and Microsoft consoles.

But perhaps most intriguing is Sony’s quiet collaboration with growing support for Steam Deck. As of right now, there are already multiple PlayStation titles on the Steam Deck, with Sony also bringing custom Steam Deck boot animations for its popular games like The Last of US. This rumor highlights how Sony doesn’t look at Valve or Microsoft as competitors; rather, it makes the Steam Deck its unofficial PlayStation handheld.

The podcast further discusses Valve’s first home console, which could debut alongside the Steam Deck 2. SteamOS continues to grow in popularity compared to Windows powered handhelds. So it could just be a matter of time before Valve becomes the next big player in the console segment.
