Xiaomi could be pulling out all the stops on its next top flagship. A fresh leak has revealed some of the key specs and features of the next gen Xiaomi 16 Ultra. This model might bring notable upgrades over its predecessors, with a big leap in photography and even battery size. So let’s check it out.
Xiaomi 16 Ultra Leak: Next Top Photography Flagship?
A tip from Kartikey Singh on X claimed that big changes are coming to the cameras, while rumors on Weibo have revealed what some of these improvements could include. On the rear, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is getting upgrades on three of its cameras. Its primary shooter will have a large 1-inch sensor with a resolution of 50MP. This sounds identical to its predecessor’s main camera, but this could be an updated new sensor.
With the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the brand offered a 200MP periscope telephoto shooter that had a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. But this is rumored to get bigger on the Xiaomi 16 Ultra with a larger 1/1.28-incnh sensor. To put things into perspective, the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s main camera has a similar sensor size. So we can expect better clarity and low light performance on zoomed shots.
Last but not least, the ultra wide angle lens could have a 50MP 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT600 sensor (larger than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s 1/2.76 ultra wide camera). We already know that a battery size bump is in the plans, with leaks suggesting a massive capacity that could be between 7,000mAh and 7,500mAh.
