Honor might be gearing up to compete with the current generation of flagship flip phones with its own offering soon. But it might make its upcoming Magic V Flip 2/Magic V2 Flip be more practical with a bigger battery and faster charging speeds.
Honor Magic V Flip 2 Leaked with Big Battery and Blazing 80W Charging
The news arrives from Digital Chat Station, who shared the details on Weibo. In his latest post, the known tipster shared some details regarding a bunch of phones, including the Magic V Flip 2. He believes that Honor’s next flip phone will debut with a sizeable 5,500mAh battery pack, which could support 80W wired fast charging. While this isn’t groundbreaking for devices that recently launched in China, it is still notable for a clamshell folding phone.

In comparison, Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Flip 7 with a bigger battery than its predecessor. However, the flagship foldable only got a minor bump to 4,300mAh. This model came with support for a humble 25W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. So the Magic V Flip 2 packs would be setting a record for such a format. Notably, Digital Chat Station previously made the same claim for the Magic V Flip 2‘s battery pack last month.
Honor might debut this model in the Chinese market in August 2025, although there is still no official word on its release. The device even surfaced on China’s CMIIT and 3C certification recently. Based on what we know so far, the Magic V Flip 2 could sport a tall 6.8-inch flexible LTPO OLED main display with an FHD+ resolution and high refresh rate. Meanwhile, the cover screen is likely a 4-inch panel. Under the hood, this model might be equipped with either a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 or a Snapdragon 8 Elite. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more.
