Oppo Find X9 Ultra Display Downgrade Rumor Dismissed by Exec

According to Digital Chat Station, the Chinese tech giant’x next flagship might be getting a drop in resolution. Oppo announced the Find X8 Ultra with a tall 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, QHD+ resolution (3168 x 1440p), 2160Hz PWM dimming, and a peak brightness of 2500 nits.

In this recent post, DCS claims that the Find X9 Ultra will only have a 1.5K resolution (around 1200p). It will still feature LTPO tech for variable refresh rate support. This is a surprising downgrade for the Find X9 Ultra. Digital Chat Station is a known tipster who has had a decent track record with this leaks and tips. However, an Oppo executive denied this claim. As per Oppo’s Zhou Yibao, this rumor is fake.

Unfortunately, the senior official refrained from elaborating any further and didn’t reveal any other details. Digital Chat Stations adds that the smartphone will be equipped with Qualcomm’s SM8850 SoC, which is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. Keep in mind that this is still unconfirmed at the moment, so take this tip with a pinch of salt.
