The Galaxy A16 was one of Samsung‘s best selling smartphones. It was popular thanks to its budget pricing, and now, we have a successor that refreshes this model with the brand’s in-house Exynos chipset. So here’s everything you need to know about the Galaxy A17 5G.
Samsung Galaxy A17: What does it offer?
The South Korean tech giant’s latest affordable offering sports a tall 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Infinity-U here is for the water drop notch on the front. Under the hood, the Galaxy A17 replaces the 6nm Dimensity 6300 on its predecessor with the 5nm based Exynos 1330 SoC. This chip is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Users can even expand the memory by up to 2TB via a microSD card slot in the Hybrid Dual SIM tray (nano + nano/microSD).

For photography, the rear has a 50MP main camera (f/1.8) paired with a 5MP ultra wide angle lens (f/2.2), and a 2MP macro sensor (f/2.2). Meanwhile, the front houses a 13MP shooter for selfies and video calls. A sizeable 5,000mAh battery pack powers the Galaxy A17, which supports 25W wired fast charging. Other notable features include side mounted fingerprint scanner, slim 7.5mm body, Bluetooth 5.3, and Android 15 OS based One UI 7 custom skin out of the box.
Samsung just announced the Galaxy A17 in three color options, namely Gray, Blue, and Black. It has a starting price tag of 239 Euros for the 4GB + 128GB configuration. On the other hand, the 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants are no available in Europe right now, but we can expect them to debut in other markets. Pre-orders are currently live in the region, while a wider release should be right around the corner.
