Apple may be gearing up for a significant redesign of its MacBook Pro lineup, with rumors suggesting that a future model will be getting a notable update. The next gen MacBook Pro could feature a stunning OLED display that removes the notch for something even smaller.
What’s New on the Next Apple MacBook Pro?
The Cupertino based giant kicked off the sale of its 2025 MacBook Air with the M4 chipset a couple of months ago. Meanwhile, the successor is said to be in the works with the newer and faster Apple M5 processor. The higher end MacBook Pro will likely get the more powerful variants of this chip, which could be the Apple M5 Pro and M5 Max. But apart from the newer processor, the brand could even make the MacBook Pro lighter and thinner than its predecessor.

To recall, the current gen MacBook Pros feature mini LED display technology, which offers great brightness levels and deeper blacks compared to typical LCD panels. But recent rumors have pointed to the MacBook Pro featuring a new OLED panel. So we can expect truer blacks, wider viewing angles, and superior contrast as well. This could even help make the screens on the MacBook Pro more power efficient.
The Omdia report further adds that the next gen MacBook Pro’s notch is also getting an update, replacing the large notch with a new punch hole cutout for the webcam. Meaning, we might be seeing some Dynamic Island like functionality with the new models. Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report, so take this news with a pinch of salt for now.
