OpenAI has introduced a new subscription plan called ChatGPT Go, designed to provide more access to its popular AI features at a lower cost. The rollout has begun in India, with wider availability expected soon. The plan aims to bridge the gap between ChatGPT’s Free tier and the higher-priced Plus plan.

Subscribers of ChatGPT Go will have extended access to GPT-5, including more prompts compared to the free version. The plan also offers longer memory, making conversations more personalized and continuous. In addition, users can generate more images, upload a greater number of files such as documents and spreadsheets, and work with advanced data analysis tools like Python more frequently. The plan includes projects, tasks, and custom GPTs, allowing users to organize and track workflows more effectively.

For data privacy, OpenAI allows users to opt out of training data collection at any time. The company has confirmed that Go subscriptions also apply when using ChatGPT via WhatsApp at 1-800-ChatGPT.

ChatGPT Go: Pricing and availability

ChatGPT Go is available in India for Rs 399 per month, with billing managed on a monthly basis (no annual plan yet). Payment methods include credit cards and UPI. At present, the plan is exclusive to India and will gradually be available to all users in the country.

Unlike ChatGPT Plus, which costs Rs 1,999 monthly, the Go plan does not include legacy models like 4o, connectors, or Sora video generation. Users can cancel their subscriptions anytime through the ChatGPT settings menu. The plan also supports refunds in cases of incorrect charges.
