XPENG Motors has officially launched its third major OTA update of the year, XOS 5.8.0, bringing advanced intelligent driving, smart cabin features, and deeper personalization to its global user base. Following earlier updates in January (XOS 5.4.5) and May (XOS 5.6.0), this release highlights the company’s fast pace of innovation and user-focused development.

Strategic Significance
The OTA 5.8.0 update reflects XPENG’s strategy of combining local insights with global intelligence. By addressing user feedback and introducing new features, the company aims to set benchmarks in safety, personalization, and intelligent mobility. XPENG emphasized that the update demonstrates its commitment to building smarter cars while keeping user needs at the center of design.
Intelligent Driving Enhancements
One of the key upgrades is Human-Machine Co-Driving, now introduced in Europe. The system allows Lane Centering Control (LCC) to remain active even when the driver takes control of the wheel, delivering a smoother, more natural driving experience. Performance is also improved in highway merges, exits, and sharp turns with reduced steering oscillation.
The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) has been refined to handle higher cornering speeds and provide smoother deceleration, improving passenger comfort during long drives.

Smart Cabin Features
The new update enhances in-car experiences with several fresh features. Pet Mode ensures animals left briefly in the car remain safe and comfortable by automatically locking doors, closing windows, and managing climate control. It also sends real-time alerts to the owner through the XPENG app, with remote control options available.
Another highlight is Hands-Free Karaoke, powered by the KaraFun app in the in-car App Store, allowing seamless entertainment without complicated setup.
Climate control has also been updated, with the minimum air conditioning setting reduced to 16°C, making it more suitable for users in warmer climates.
Safety and Convenience Upgrades
XPENG has expanded the availability of its dashcam function across more European markets, adding Emergency Recording for enhanced safety. Charging has also been improved with more personalized settings, giving users finer control over their EV charging experience.

XCOMBO Personalization System
The upgraded XCOMBO platform now supports 21 languages and offers over 700 atomic capabilities for users to create or customize scenarios. These scenarios can be managed directly via the in-car display or through the XPENG mobile app. Official preset scenarios include options for entertainment, safety, comfort, and energy saving, giving drivers more flexibility in tailoring their driving and cabin environment.
Overall Impact
With OTA 5.8.0, XPENG strengthens its global position as an EV innovator by blending safety, personalization, and convenience. The rollout not only improves daily usability but also reinforces the company’s commitment to listening to customer feedback and setting higher standards in the EV market worldwide.
