Vivo recently began the OriginOS 6 beta testing on the Vivo X200 Pro and iQOO 13 in China. The new Android skin is expected to bring significant upgrades over last year’s OriginOS 5. Scheduled to officially launch this month in China, OriginOS 6 will be available preinstalled on the upcoming Vivo X300 series. Today, Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao released a Weibo post to give a sneak peek at the design elements of OriginOS 6.

OriginOS 6 first look

Boxiao said that OriginOS 6 brings a major design upgrade built on the brand’s atomic design system. The update introduces the concept of “Light & Shadow Space,” focusing on enhanced light-shadow effects and a stronger sense of spatial order to create a more natural and comfortable user experience.

The system also debuts a redesigned control centre, customizable lock screen clocks, and new charging animations, with refinements across the interface aimed at greater visual harmony.

Boxiao confirmed that OriginOS 6 will make its first appearance on the upcoming Vivo X300 series, highlighting that the team has also worked on significant improvements in operational smoothness, heavy-load handling, and long-term fluidity. He added that Vivo’s goal with this release is to deliver the best-ever version of OriginOS, designed to meet user expectations.

It is worth noting that OriginOS is restricted to the Chinese market for Vivo and iQOO phones, while global models continue to run on Funtouch OS. There has been some chatter that Vivo may soon bring OriginOS to global devices. However, there is no official confirmation yet. It remains to be seen whether the Vivo X300 series will debut with OriginOS 6 or Funtouch OS 16 globally.
