Epson has announced seven new EcoTank printers across three series, launching this September. The ET-2950, ET-3950, and ET-4950 series replace the ET-2850, ET-3850, and ET-4850 models, with a redesign focused on productivity, ease of use, and cost savings.
The ET-2950/51/56 is designed for families that need reliable, low-cost printing and includes automatic double-sided printing. The ET-3950/56 and ET-4950/56 are aimed at home and small office users, offering faster speeds, larger paper capacity, and touchscreen controls on the ET-4950.
Epson says the new EcoTank printers can cut printing costs by up to 95 percent compared to cartridge printers. One set of ink bottles delivers the same output as 63 cartridges. All models come with up to three years of ink. The ET-2950 series prints 6,600 pages in black and 5,500 in color, while the ET-3950 and ET-4950 reach 15,100 black pages with an extra black bottle included. A replacement set yields 8,500 black and 6,500 color pages. The ET-2950 is rated for 50,000 pages over its lifetime, while the ET-3950 and ET-4950 can reach 100,000 pages.
Print speeds are 15ppm in black and 8ppm in color for the ET-2950 series. The ET-3950 and ET-4950 increase speeds to 18ppm in black and 9ppm in color. All models include a 30-sheet duplex ADF for double-sided scanning and copying. Other features include front-facing refillable tanks with key-lock bottles, dual-band Wi-Fi, and an auto-opening output tray. Displays range from a 3.7cm LCD on the ET-2950, a 6.1cm LCD on the ET-3950, and a touchscreen on the ET-4950. The Epson Smart Panel app allows setup, troubleshooting, and mobile printing.
