HyperOS 3 key features

HyperOS 3 introduces Xiaomi HyperIsland (hello, Apple), which makes it easier to manage notifications and improves multitasking. It shows live activities directly in the taskbar, so you don’t need to open the app to see how far your food order or cab is. This feature supports up to three islands and allows users to switch between them easily. Users can swipe down an island to open it in a floating window.

There’s also dynamic notifications for calls, music, charging, and schedules. The HyperOS 3 also brings the AI Cinematic Lock Screen and AI Dynamic Wallpapers that transform a traditional lock screen experience into an immersive, cinematic visual display. Users would also appreciate the new centralized lock screen editing interface, which should make customization more enjoyable and intuitive.

HyperOS 3 introduces a new suite of AI features assisted by Xiaomi HyperAI, including smart screen recognition and DeepThink mode. Users can write social media captions for images, generate insights using the DeepThink feature, and choose from four different writing styles.

Xiaomi also adds AI Speech Recognition with the ability to reduce background noise, convert speech to text while recording, and generate an instant summary of a recording. The AI Search feature enables users to summarize search results and search on-device content. You can also ask specific questions, such as someone’s birthday or upcoming meetings.

There’s also the AI Translate tool, which enables simultaneous interpretation for calls and conferences, as well as the transcription and translation of audio into bilingual subtitles, and offline, face-to-face translation. The Gallery app also integrates AI, now allowing users to search for a specific image within 10 categories.

HyperOS 3 - Touch to Share

HyperOS 3 focuses on improving cross-ecosystem interconnectivity, particularly with Apple devices. The touch-to-share feature now works with Apple devices as well. Furthermore, HyperOS 3 enables users to run Xiaomi apps on iPad, run multiple apps from Xiaomi phones on a Mac in desktop-style windows, and unlock a Xiaomi phone with Touch ID or Face ID. The iPhone can now locate a Xiaomi phone by connecting to a Xiaomi hotspot.

Xiaomi has also introduced a host of under-the-hood improvements to make HyperOS 3 faster, smoother, and more stable.
