Following the Xiaomi 17 series announcements, Vivo is set to release its next generation of flagship smartphones soon. We already know plenty of details regarding the Vivo X300 lineup through leaks, rumors, and official teasers. So here’s a quick roundup of everything that we know so far.

1. Display & Design

Last year’s Vivo X200 series consisted of the Vivo X200, Vivo X200 Pro, and Vivo X200 Pro Mini. There was also an X300 Ultra, but the top model debuted a few months later. But this time around, the Chinese brand is shaking things up with just the Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro model. The standard X300 is taking the role of the compact flagship. The design is only getting minor refinements, so the overall design remains the same across generation. Meaning, you still get a large circular camera module, although the X300 series have a flat rear panel and frame.

Official teasers have confirmed a Lucky Color, Cozy Purple, Free Blue and Pure Black colors for the vanilla model and the X300 Pro will arrive in Wilderness Brown, Simple White, Free Blue and Pure Black. Other notable design elements include IP68 + IP69 rating for water and dust resistance and 7.95mm thin body (7.99mm on the X300 Pro). On the front, the Vivo X300 is expected to sport a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the more expensive Pro model gets a taller 6.78-inch panel. Both models are getting an upgraded BOE Q10 Plus OLED screen with support for 1 nit brightness.

2. Performance

MediaTek recently unveiled its new top of the line mobile chip, the Dimensity 9500. This processor is set to power the upcoming Android flagships, including the Vivo X300 series. Apart from the usual upgrades in performance, you also get improvements in NPU performance, ISP, and even console-like ray tracing support on the D9500. Both the standard and Pro versions will feature the latest chip, with a GeekBench sighting also confirming support for at one configuration with 16GB of RAM.

The benchmark sighting even confirmed that the devices will run on the Android 16 OS based OriginOS 6 custom skin out of the box. A big new addition of this OS is the support for Apple ecosystem. Under the hood, a huge 6,040mAh battery pack is expected to power the Vivo X300 with support for 90W wired fast charging and fast wireless charging. The Vivo X300 Pro might get an even larger 6,510mAh cell with 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support.

3. Camera

Vivo’s premium smartphones have received plenty of praises for their photography experience and the focus on camera performance is no different this time around either. The next gen devices will debut with the 4th Gen Zeiss imaging system and Zeiss T* coating. The base Vivo X300 will feature a 200MP HPB main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size, which will be paired with a 50MP ultra wide angle lens and a 50MP Sony LYT602 periscope telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom.

For selfies and video calls, the brand will likely offer a 50MP camera on both models. With the Vivo X300 Pro, you get a larger a new 50MP, 1/1.28-inch type CMOS image sensor for the primary camera along with an 85mm 200-megapixel Zeiss APO telephoto camera and a 50MP ultra wide angel lens. The duo will arrive with 4K 60fps portrait video recording, Vivo’s V3+ imaging chip, and CIPA 4.5-level and CIPA 5.5-level advanced optical stabilization.

4. Launch Timeline

Vivo has officially confirmed that its next flagship smartphones, the Vivo X300 series, will launch on October 13 at 7PM (China time). These devices will also launch with a camera kit for telephoto extension.
