Dangbei has officially launched the Smart 2 portable projector in China. The device is priced at 1,799 yuan ($252), while a variant bundled with the Atmosphere Set is available for 1,879 yuan ($264).
Dangbei Smart 2 Specifications
The Smart 2 adopts a compact design that weighs just 1 kilogram and measures only 10 cm wide. Dangbei claims the projector is about the size of a milk tea cup, making it suitable for travel, camping, or casual use at home. The integrated U-shaped gimbal allows 240-degree tilt adjustment, enabling flexible projection on walls, ceilings, or tabletops without requiring an external stand.
The projector uses DLP display technology and delivers 550 CVIA lumens of brightness. It supports native 1080p Full HD resolution with 4K decoding, covers 124% of the Rec.709 color gamut, and projects 60-100-inch images at a 1.2:1 throw ratio while keeping noise below 28 dB.
The Smart 2 is powered by an MT9-series chipset with a quad-core Cortex-A55 CPU, 1.5 GB RAM, and 32 GB storage. It runs Android 11 with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and supports MEMC motion compensation up to 120Hz for smoother playback.
The projector supports AI autofocus, automatic keystone correction, obstacle avoidance, and intelligent screen alignment. It also includes eye protection that dims the display when someone steps in front of it. The audio system uses dual 6W speakers with Dolby Audio certification and 360-degree sound coverage. When projection is turned off, the unit can function as a Bluetooth speaker.
For outdoor use, the projector supports 65W Type-C PD input and can run directly from compatible power banks. For connectivity, it includes HDMI, USB 2.0, and USB-C. The system also supports wireless screen casting via Android, iOS (AirPlay), Huawei Cast+, and Windows platforms.
The optional Atmosphere Set adds ambient lighting features with brightness levels between 50 and 150 lux and color temperatures ranging from 1800K to 2000K. These lighting modes are designed to support bedtime relaxation. The projector also integrates with the Mi Home ecosystem and supports voice commands through the Xiao Ai assistant.
Alongside the portable Smart 2, Dangbei also unveiled the D7X and D7X Pro projectors, the X7 Pro, Max, and Ultra 4K tri-laser models, as well as the high-end S7 Ultra Pro 4K projector.
