Asus has quietly added the ROG Strix XG27JCG to its official website. The monitor features a 5K resolution paired with a 180Hz refresh rate, a combination that appears to be the first of its kind in the gaming monitor market. Official pricing and release details have not been confirmed yet, and more information may surface at CES 2026.
Hong Kong retailer Faroll has listed the monitor for pre-order at HKD 6,499 (about $835) and indicates an expected arrival date of December 31, suggesting that early units may ship before the year ends.

The 27-inch display uses a Fast IPS panel and supports a native 5K resolution of 5120 x 2880 at up to 180Hz with overclocking. The monitor also features a dual-mode function that allows users to switch to QHD resolution at 330Hz for ultra-responsive gameplay.
The XG27JCG features a pixel density of 218 PPI and a peak brightness of 600 nits. It supports VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification and covers 97% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
The display uses 10-bit color and offers a typical brightness of 350 nits. Asus includes support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, along with ELMB 2 (Extreme Low Motion Blur) and Variable Overdrive for improved motion clarity.

The monitor features extensive connectivity, including DisplayPort 1.4 (with Display Stream Compression – DSC), two HDMI 2.1 ports (with Fixed Rate Link – FRL), and a USB Type-C port offering 15W power delivery. For peripheral connections, it includes a USB hub with three USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Asus includes AI features such as Dynamic Shadow Boost, Dynamic Crosshair, and AI Visual, which automatically adjust picture settings based on the viewing environment. The stand supports height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, and the monitor has VESA 100x100mm mount support. There is also a 1/4″ tripod socket for mounting accessories or cameras.
