After weeks of teasers and leaks, Xiaomi has finally announced the Redmi Note 15 5G in the Indian market. This model is a part of the brand’s latest Note 15 lineup, bringing a new and improved main camera, HyperOS 3, and much more. So here’s everything you need to know.

Redmi Note 15 5G: Design & Display
The Chinese tech giant’s new Redmi Note 15 5G just debuted with a sleek design. This device measures just 7.35mm thick and weighs around 178 grams. So the device is relatively sleek and light. Xiaomi claims that the Redmi Note 15 5G is the thinnest Redmi Note ever, which is quite impressive since it also has a sizeable battery capacity. You also get an IP66 and IP65 rating for water and dust resistance.
Meanwhile, the front houses a tall 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, TUV Triple Eye Care certification, 3840Hz PWM dimming, 3200 nits of peak brightness, and Hydro Touch 2.0 technology that helps improve touch input even with wet hands.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 15 5G is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC, which is coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. You also get up to 1TB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot. This is an octa core chip that is based on the 4nm process. It offers a 10 percent upgrade in GPU performance and a 30 percent improvement in CPU performance. A large 5,520mAh battery pack powers this budget model, which supports 45W wired fast charging and 18W reverse charging. On a single full charge, Xiaomi promises 1.6 days of usage and up to 5 years of battery life.
Out of the box, the Redmi Note 15 5G runs on the Android 15 OS based HyperOS 2 custom skin. But it is expected to get the HyperOS 3 update with Android 16 soon. So it will get access to the new HyperIsland, enhanced UI, and the deeper personalization options like better lock screen customization, new pet widgets, and more after its release. Other notable features include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, drop resistance design (MIL-STD-810H), Xiaomi Interconnectivity, Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi 6, a USB Type-C 2.0 port, dual nano SIM card slot, an IR blaster, an in-display fingerprint scanner for security, and 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches.
Camera
Xiaomi just launched its latest mid range phone with a 108MP main camera. This is the Samsung HN9 sensor, which is paired with the new MasterPixel technology for improved color accuracy, better low light performance, and enhanced HDR. The primary shooter also brings 4K video recording, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), and support for various AI editing tools like AI Erase, AI Remove Reflection, and others. You also get an 8MP ultra wide angle lens on the back. For selfies and video calls, the front houses a 20MP camera.
Pricing and Availability
The Redmi Note 15 5G officially debuted in India in three color options, namely Black, Mist Purple, and Glacier Blue. It has a starting price tag of Rs 24,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, while the 8GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 26,999. There is a special introductory offer that brings the price down to just Rs 19,999 and Rs 21,999, thanks to bank credit card discounts and a cashback deal. First sales of this device kick off on 9th January 2026.
