Early talk around the OnePlus 16 is starting to surface. A new leak suggests the company could reintroduce a higher-end “Pro” model—or possibly launch an “Ultra”—after skipping that tier for several generations.

The claim comes from X user @OnePlusClub, a source that has previously shared OnePlus-related information. According to the tipster, the OnePlus 16 lineup may include a premium variant positioned above the standard model, with a possible launch window in late 2026.

The device is described as an “all rounder” flagship. That would mark a shift from the OnePlus 15, which leaned heavily into performance and battery life, while making compromises elsewhere. In China, that approach also allowed OnePlus to price the phone lower than earlier flagships, but it wasn’t universally popular with long-time fans.

OnePlus hasn’t offered a “Pro” model in its numbered series since the OnePlus 10 Pro in 2022. Since then, the brand has focused on a single main flagship each year, while reserving experimental features for other product lines.

A return to a Pro or Ultra tier could be OnePlus’ way of addressing feedback from users who want a more no-compromise option. Separately, earlier leaks around the standard OnePlus 16 point to some ambitious upgrades, including a high-refresh-rate display and a possible 200-megapixel main camera, though those details remain unconfirmed.

As always with early leaks, plans can change. OnePlus has not commented on the OnePlus 16 series, and there’s no official roadmap yet. Still, with rivals like iQOO already pushing “Ultra” branding, it wouldn’t be surprising to see OnePlus revisit a higher-end flagship strategy next year. And perhaps this higher-end OnePlus 16 model could finally appeal to camera enthusiasts, with a larger main sensor and a beefier telephoto setup.
