Xiaomi has just launched a new camera for home security in China. The Xiaomi Smart Outdoor Camera 4 4G has just been announced with dual camera sensors, standalone connectivity, and much more. So here’s everything you need to know.

The Chinese tech giant’s new security cam ditches the need for WiFi entirely, by using built-in 4G LTE connectivity. This means you can place the camera almost anywhere there’s cellular coverage and stream footage via the Mi Home app. So one doesn’t need to worry about weak home networks or expensive routers with large area coverage. What sets it apart is the included data plan that comes with a free unlimited data plan for app based streaming.
In other words, you don’t need a monthly subscription and potentially high carrier costs. It also makes the Xiaomi Smart Outdoor Camera 4 4G simple to install and monitor your property right away. Furthermore, this model brings a dual camera setup that includes two 5MP sensors that have an f/1.6 aperture. The twin cameras offer a wide angle view along with a telephoto perspective, giving you both a broad scene coverage along with zoomed-in recordings for better detail. This lets you spot faces better, capture license plates, and see distant movement thanks to 3K recordings.
Xiaomi has packed the Smart Outdoor Camera 4 4G with an AI powered detection feature that can distinguish between humans and vehicles, that reduce false alerts. There is also two way voice communication that lets users talk to visitors and delivery workers straight from their smartphones. The security cam can also survive outdoor conditions since it carries an IP66 rating for water and dust resistance. Other notable features include Xiaomi HyperConnect ecosystem support and Active Defence with sound and light alarms. The Xiaomi Smart Outdoor Camera 4 4G in China costs 379 Yuan, which is roughly around 53 US Dollars. This launch also arrives after the company launched the Xiaomi Smart Camera 3 3K earlier this month.
