Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17e has surfaced in a fresh leak by FrontPageTech, offering an early look at its expected design changes, hardware upgrades, and positioning within the company’s lineup. The leak reveals that it could arrive sooner than usual, possibly through a press announcement later this month, signalling Apple’s renewed push in the affordable premium segment.

According to FPT, the iPhone 17e may drop the traditional notch in favor of Dynamic Island, aligning its appearance more closely with higher-end models. The device is expected to feature a 6.1-inch display, although reports indicate it may retain a 60Hz refresh rate, which could remain one of its compromises.
Apple appears to be targeting users looking for a relatively accessible entry into the iOS ecosystem, especially in markets where mid-range competition is strong. The handset is also tipped to introduce an upgraded 18-megapixel front camera with Centre Stage functionality, improving video calls and content creation.
On the rear, a single 48-megapixel Fusion camera is likely to continue, relying on improved processing from the newer chipset to deliver better imaging results rather than major hardware changes. Its rear design is almost identical to the previous generation.
Internally, the iPhone 17e is said to run on a lower-binned A19 processor paired with 8GB RAM, enabling support for Apple Intelligence features. Connectivity improvements may come via Apple’s C1X networking chip, while MagSafe charging is reportedly making its way to this tier for the first time.
Pricing is said to start at around $599, keeping it in line with its predecessor. Standard Black and White color options are likely, with a possible Lavender variant under consideration.
