Redmi will hold a major launch event later this month in China. The event will see the arrival of the Redmi K90 Max, Redmi K Pad 2, and new laptops. Earlier today, the company released official images showcasing the K90 Max’s design for the first time. At the same time, the brand has also revealed the K Pad 2’s official images, highlighting its design, color options, and key specifications.
Redmi K Pad 2 design, color options
The Redmi K Pad 2 continues with a compact 8.8-inch tablet form factor, making it easier to carry while still offering a large screen for gaming and media consumption. It features a metal unibody construction, giving it a premium and sturdy feel. Compared to its predecessor, the rear design looks cleaner, with a simplified camera module and the removal of the decorative strip.
Another noticeable change is the repositioning of the power button to the right side, which should improve accessibility during landscape use. The button is also expected to integrate a fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking. It will be available in three shades: Deep Black, Spotlight Purple, and Space Silver.
Redmi K Pad 2 specifications
The Redmi K Pad 2 is confirmed to feature an 8.8-inch LCD panel that offers a 165Hz refresh rate and promises improvements in brightness, touch response, and eye comfort. Under the hood, it is powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset, which is said to bring a noticeable jump in both single-core and multi-core performance compared to the previous generation.
The tablet packs a large 9,100mAh battery, aiming to deliver extended gaming sessions without frequent charging. It is expected to include dual X-axis motors for better haptic feedback and a tuned dual-speaker setup for an enhanced audio experience.
Last year, the Redmi K Pad was rebranded as the Xiaomi Pad Mini in the global market. Therefore, it is likely that the second-generation Redmi K-series tablet could be renamed as the Xiaomi Pad Mini 2 globally.
