After weeks of chatter, DJI has finally introduced its latest pocket-sized gimbal camera, the Osmo Pocket 4. The new model builds on the familiar formula of DJI’s long-running handheld gimbal series, but it comes with a larger sensor and a set of upgrades for creators.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Specifications
At the center of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is a newly upgraded one-inch CMOS sensor paired with an f/2.0 aperture. This combination brings a claimed dynamic range of up to 14 stops, which should help preserve more detail in both highlights and shadows.
It also supports a 10-bit D-Log color mode, offering greater flexibility in post-production.
The camera now supports 4K slow-motion recording at up to 240fps. On the audio side, DJI is adding spatial audio recording along with zoom audio pickup. There’s also support for OsmoAudio direct connection to DJI microphone transmitters, enabling up to four-channel audio recording. This makes the gimbal camera more practical for interviews or multi-source recording setups.
As for tracking, the Osmo Pocket 4 introduces Intelligent Follow 7.0, which supports subject tracking at up to 4x zoom. DJI has also added “Lock Subject Tracking” and “Priority Subject Registration” for a more stable and predictable tracking experience.
Gesture controls are part of the update as well, allowing users to start or stop tracking and recording without touching the screen.
For users focused on portrait shooting, DJI says it has calibrated the camera for more natural skin tones across different lighting conditions. There’s also a built-in beauty filter with adjustable smoothing, whitening, and tone settings.
It also supports an external fill light for adjustable brightness and color temperature in a compact form.
DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pricing and Availability
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is now open for pre-orders, with deliveries scheduled to begin on April 22. DJI is offering the camera in three different bundles.
The base option keeps things simple, while the higher tiers gradually turn the Pocket 4 into something closer to a full creator kit.
