HP has brought a new HyperX Omen 15 gaming laptop to India, now powered by an AMD Ryzen 200 series processor. This comes a few months after the company introduced an Intel Core i7-14650HX variant of the same lineup.

At the core is the AMD Ryzen 7 260 chip, which goes up to 5.1 GHz boost clock and comes with 8 cores and 16 threads, along with 16MB L3 cache. The system is paired with 24GB DDR5 RAM clocked at 5600 MT/s and 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage. It runs Windows 11 Home out of the box and includes Microsoft Office 2024, a one-year Microsoft 365 Basic plan, and a two-month Xbox Game Pass offer.

The laptop features a 15.3-inch IPS anti-glare display with a 2.5K resolution. It supports a 180Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. Other display details include 500 nits brightness, 100 percent sRGB coverage, a 16:10 aspect ratio, Low Blue Light support, and slim micro-edge bezels.

For graphics, HP has used an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 memory. The cooling is handled by the OMEN Tempest Cooling system, designed to keep temperatures in check during long gaming sessions. There is also an OMEN Unleashed Mode that allows users to push performance beyond standard settings.

The keyboard comes with a HyperAction 8000Hz polling rate, which is aimed at reducing input delay. RGB lighting can be customised, and users can tweak performance or boost FPS through the OMEN Gaming Hub and OMEN AI tools.

In terms of ports, the laptop includes two USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, HDMI, RJ-45 Ethernet, HP Sleep and Charge, and a headphone and microphone combo jack. It also gets DTS:X Ultra dual speakers and a 1080p camera with HDR auto switch, temporal noise reduction, and dual array microphones.

The 70Wh battery supports fast charging, with up to 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes using the bundled 150W adapter.

Pricing & offers

The laptop is priced at Rs 1,49,990. With bank discounts of up to Rs 20,250 and exchange offers up to Rs 30,000, the effective price can drop to Rs 99,990. HP is also bundling HyperX gaming accessories worth Rs 17,000, including a Cloud III wired headset and a Pulsefire Haste 2 mouse. It is available on Amazon.
