SanDisk has partnered with Crayola to release a line of USB-C flash drives designed to look exactly like standard wax crayons. After initially launching globally last year, the officially licensed drives are now making their way to India. They are aimed primarily at students, teachers, and anyone who wants a storage device that doesn’t look like a plain metal or plastic rectangle.

SanDisk Crayola Flash Drive Specifications
From a design perspective, the drive closely mimics the classic Crayola wrapper, complete with the familiar wavy black borders and recognizable font. Pulling off the tip of the crayon reveals a standard USB-C connector. In India, SanDisk is offering the drive in three distinct colors: Mango Tango, Cerulean Blue, and Electric Lime.
Underneath the colorful plastic casing, it is a standard, capable storage drive. It uses a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, and SanDisk states it can reach read speeds of up to 300 MB/s. That is fast enough for its intended use case, moving homework assignments, PDFs, photos, and standard media files between laptops, Chromebooks, and iPads. The choice to go exclusively with USB-C rather than the older USB-A standard makes sense here, given that most modern tablets and laptops used in education today rely entirely on USB-C ports.

SanDisk also added a few minor software touches to lean into the theme. When you plug the drive into a desktop computer, it mounts with a custom Crayola icon in the file manager rather than a generic external drive logo. It also supports SanDisk’s Memory Zone app for basic file management and backups.
Because the product is heavily targeted at younger users and their parents, each drive comes bundled with a three-month subscription to the Crayola Create & Play app, alongside access to printable activity sheets. However, SanDisk explicitly notes that the drive is not a toy and includes a standard choking hazard warning for children under three years old due to the small, removable cap.
Pricing and Availability
The SanDisk Crayola USB-C Flash Drive is available now on Amazon India. The base 64GB model costs Rs. 2,769, the 128GB version is Rs. 3,939, and the highest-capacity 256GB model is priced at Rs. 6,029. All three storage tiers come with a five-year limited warranty.
In related news, SanDisk has recently launched a new 1TB portable SSD that delivers read speeds of up to 600MB/s.
