The Xiaomi 17 Max features a 6.9-inch flat display with narrow bezels and a design language similar to the Xiaomi 15 series. Official images show a rounded camera module integrated smoothly into the rear panel, while reports suggest the phone could continue using premium materials such as ceramic or a carbon fibre-inspired finish on select variants. Xiaomi has confirmed black, blue, and white color options for the device.

Lu Weibing, who is a partner and president of Xiaomi Group, president of the mobile phone division, and general manager of the Xiaomi brand, described the 17 Max as a “fully upgraded” version of the standard Xiaomi 17 rather than just a bigger phone.

As per reports, the Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to feature a 1.5K LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and symmetrical dual speakers. It is also tipped to come with advanced water resistance and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

The phone is expected to include an 8000mAh battery, which could become the largest battery ever offered on a Xiaomi-branded smartphone. Charging support may include 100W wired fast charging alongside 50W wireless charging with PPS compatibility.

The camera setup is also expected to receive notable upgrades, including a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP-series primary sensor, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. Leica branding is expected to remain part of the imaging system. Powering the device could be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
