Hot on the heels of a powerbank launch, Chinese accessories maker Ugreen has introduced a new 160W GaN fast charger with upgraded multi-port charging support, a lighter design, and a built-in smart display. The charger is priced at 279 yuan (~ $40) in China.

The new model comes with a multi-window smart display on the front that shows charging information in real time. Users can check the power output and fast-charging protocol status directly from the screen while charging devices.

Ugreen has also equipped the charger with four USB-C ports and one USB-A port, allowing up to five devices to charge at the same time. The company says its self-developed SmartCharge power allocation technology can intelligently detect the power requirements of connected devices and distribute charging speeds accordingly.

In terms of performance, the charger supports up to 140W output from a single USB-C port. Ugreen also says the charger can reach a combined maximum output of 160W when using dual USB-C, triple USB-C, or quad USB-C setups. The charger delivers up to 155W total output when all five ports are used.

The charger also uses an upgraded gallium nitride, or GaN, chip for better efficiency and lower heat generation. It also supports real-time temperature monitoring to help maintain safe charging during extended use.

Ugreen has slightly updated the external design as well. The weight has been reduced from 353 grams on the older version to around 320 grams. The “160W” branding on the side has also been changed from gray to red for a more noticeable appearance.

According to the listed specifications, the USB-C1 and USB-C2 ports can each provide up to 140W output, while USB-C3 supports up to 100W. The USB-C4 port supports up to 30W, and the USB-A port can provide up to 22.5W charging speeds.

The charger supports an input range of 100V to 240V, making it suitable for international use.
