The OnePlus 15 is a good performance-focused phone, but it has been criticized for lacking major upgrades in the camera department. Rumors surrounding its successor, the OnePlus 16, suggest that it will have an impressive set of cameras onboard. Here’s a look at what the new leak reveals about its camera specifications.

OnePlus 16 camera details tipped again

Previous reports have suggested that the OnePlus 16 will be equipped with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. However, a new leak from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that OnePlus is testing another camera configuration for its upcoming OnePlus 16 flagship smartphone.

According to the tipster, the prototype features a 200-megapixel large-sensor primary camera, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. DCS further asked followers whether they would prefer a 200-megapixel primary camera or a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, hinting that the final decision may not have been made yet.

Since the OnePlus 16 will also be a performance-oriented phone, the company is unlikely to include two 200-megapixel cameras on the device. Hopefully, upcoming reports will provide more clarity about its camera capabilities.

As for other specifications, the OnePlus 16 is said to feature a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel offering a 1.5K resolution, a 185Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it will reportedly have the forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip along with a massive 9,000mAh battery.

The OnePlus 16 is expected to support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. As a next-generation device, it is expected to ship with Android 17-based ColorOS 17 in China and OxygenOS 17 in global markets when it launches. Other rumored features include an X-axis bionic vibration motor, symmetrical dual speakers, an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, and IP68/69-rated dust and water resistance.
