Motorola has announced the Moto G Max in Brazil, bringing a mix of premium durability, a high-resolution camera system and a large AMOLED display to the mid-range segment. The handset arrives with Android 16 out of the box and combines rugged protection with hardware aimed at photography and everyday entertainment.
Moto G Max specifications and features

The Moto G Max features a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 1272 x 2772 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola says the panel can reach up to 5000 nits of peak brightness, helping improve visibility outdoors. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and supports adaptive refresh rate adjustments to balance smoothness and battery efficiency.
Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device also supports virtual RAM expansion of up to 16GB. It runs Android 16 and includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, face unlock support, NFC, dual-SIM functionality with eSIM support, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
For photography, the Moto G Max is equipped with a 200-megapixel primary camera featuring optical image stabilization. The rear setup also includes an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view. On the front, users get a 32-megapixel selfie camera capable of recording videos in up to 2K resolution at 30fps.

The handset packs a 5,200mAh battery with support for 33W TurboPower charging. Motorola claims the battery can deliver up to 35 hours of usage on a single charge. Durability is another major highlight, with IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings, MIL-STD-810H certification, and protection against dust, water immersion, high-pressure water jets and challenging environmental conditions.

The Moto G Max is listed on Motorola’s Brazilian online store at BRL 2,519.10, which currently converts to around $490. It is available in Azul Carlo (Blue) and Grafite color options. Motorola is also expected to offer this device in other markets under the Moto G87 branding.
