Meizu has returned to the smartwatch segment in China after a gap of around five years. The company has quietly introduced the Meizu Watch M1, a budget-focused wearable that combines a large AMOLED display, Bluetooth calling and fitness tracking features at an affordable price point.

The Meizu Watch M1 features a square dial with a curved display design and a metal-look frame. It comes equipped with a 2.01-inch AMOLED screen that offers a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits, making it easier to view notifications and health data outdoors. The display is protected by 2.5D glass and supports full-touch operation.
For connectivity, the smartwatch supports Bluetooth calling and Bluetooth music playback, allowing users to answer calls directly from the wrist when connected to a smartphone. The watch supports dual Bluetooth connectivity and is powered by dedicated hardware that includes a VC30F-SG heart rate sensor and an SC7A20H motion sensor.

Fitness and health tracking are also a key part of the package. The Watch M1 supports more than 100 sports modes covering activities such as walking, running, cycling, hiking and various indoor workouts. It can monitor heart rate, sleep patterns, and calorie consumption throughout the day. Additional features include sedentary reminders, hydration reminders and women’s health tracking.

The wearable carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for daily use in varying conditions. Meizu has equipped it with a 300mAh battery that is claimed to deliver around three to five days of typical usage, while standby time can reach up to 15 days. Charging is handled through a magnetic charging system and a full charge takes approximately two hours.
Meizu Watch M1 price and availability
The Meizu Watch M1 has gone on sale in China with a launch price of 299 Yuan (~$45) The smartwatch is available with a black perforated silicone strap, while the watch body is offered in a silver finish with a contrasting red crown accent. At present, the wearable is limited to the Chinese market, and Meizu has not announced plans for availability in India or other global regions.
