Sharp has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the AQUOS R11, in Japan. The new device comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and will go on sale starting July 9. The company has not yet revealed the price of the unlocked, SIM-free version.

The AQUOS R11 continues Sharp’s minimalist design language, inspired by the Miyake design concept. It comes in three color options: Navy Blue, Ivory Yellow, and Terracotta Red. The smartphone measures 156 x 74 x 8.9mm and weighs 195 grams.

On the front, the phone features a 6.5-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution and a punch-hole design. The screen is capable of reaching up to 3,600 nits of peak brightness and houses a 50.3-megapixel selfie camera on a hole-punch cutout.

The camera system is one of the main highlights of the AQUOS R11. It sports a Leica-supervised triple rear camera, including a 50.3-megapixel main sensor, a 50.3-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 38.5-megapixel telephoto lens.

The phone also introduces AI-powered camera features, including automatic zoom adjustment to help users capture better shots in different situations.

Another unique addition is the “breathing light” built into the rear camera module. The light supports eight colors inspired by nature and can work together with the phone’s new white noise mode to create a calming atmosphere before sleep or while relaxing.

Under the hood, the AQUOS R11 runs on a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The device packs a 5,100mAh battery and supports 36W wired charging.

For connectivity, the smartphone includes support for Bluetooth 6.0 and Wi-Fi 7. It also comes with strong durability credentials, carrying IPX5, IPX8, IPX9, and IP6X ratings for water and dust resistance.
