BigMe has taken the wraps off its newest e-ink phone, the HiBreak Dual 2, and launched it on Kickstarter. The company calls it the world’s first large dual-screen color e-ink phone, and it builds on the original HiBreak Dual that BigMe launched not long ago.

BigMe HiBreak Dual 2 Specifications
The standout feature here is the phone’s two large displays. On the front, it has a 6.13-inch color e-ink screen that is great for reading, note-taking, and long stretches of screen time without tiring your eyes.
Flip it over, and there’s a 5-inch LCD panel for everyday tasks like watching videos, browsing apps, and viewing photos in full color. This is a big jump from the original HiBreak Dual, which paired its e-ink front with a much smaller 1.85-inch circular LCD on the back. With the Dual 2, both screens are roughly the same size, giving users two full smartphone experiences in one device.
The phone also comes with stylus support, so users can take notes or sketch directly on the e-ink screen, similar to writing on paper.

Under the hood, BigMe has upgraded the chip too. While the original HiBreak Dual ran on an older MediaTek Dimensity 1080, the new HiBreak Dual 2 uses the more powerful Dimensity 8300, paired with 5G network support. It runs Android 16 out of the box, a notable update over the previous model’s Android 14.
As for pricing, BigMe has rolled out a tiered system for backers. The early bird prices start at $699 and $769. Once the standard Kickstarter pricing kicks in, the Standard Edition starts at $899, while the Kickstarter Exclusive Edition is priced from $989.
BigMe has steadily built out its e-ink lineup over the past year, from phones to tablets, readers, monitors, and digital photo frames, and the HiBreak Dual 2 is its most ambitious phone yet.
