Apple’s ultra-slim iPhone Air captured widespread attention with its remarkably thin profile, yet early buyers frequently criticized its limited battery life and basic camera capabilities. Fortunately, recent supply chain leaks indicate that the technology giant is planning a major hardware overhaul for its successor. According to industry insider Digital Chat Station, the second-generation model will introduce several internal re-engineering feats to address these major complaints. Here are the four key improvements arriving on the upcoming device.

4Thinner Display Packaging
Fitting these hardware additions into an ultra-slim phone requires clever space optimization. Reports indicate Apple is implementing Samsung’s CoE (Color Filter on Encapsulation) OLED technology. By printing the color filters directly onto the encapsulation film, the entire screen assembly becomes significantly thinner, clearing the necessary internal depth to house the larger battery.
Launch Timeline
By fixing previous bottlenecks, Apple is poised to deliver a thin smartphone that doesn’t compromise on utility. The device is slated to go official alongside the standard iPhone 18 in spring 2027.
