Smartphone launches have usually followed a set order. Apple launches in September. Xiaomi launches its own flagship in China the same month. Vivo and Oppo have typically waited until October, and Huawei’s Mate series has often launched in November. A new leak suggests the timeline may change this year.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), five major flagship lines are now expected to launch in September 2026: the iPhone 18 series, the Huawei Mate 90 series, the Vivo X500 series, the Oppo Find X10 series, and the Xiaomi 18 series. If the leak holds, these five brands are likely to release flagship phones within the same few weeks instead of spreading their launches across the fall.
More importantly, Huawei is making a big change this year. The Mate 90 series is on track for a September 2026 launch, earlier than the November timing of recent Mate generations. The Mate series has moved later each of the past two years, so that a September date would put Huawei’s flagship in the same window as Apple’s iPhone launch for the first time in years.
Xiaomi’s plan is less surprising, since it launched the Xiaomi 17 series in September 2025 and is expected to repeat that timing with the Xiaomi 18. Vivo and Oppo appear to be following the same approach this year. Both brands are reportedly aiming to unveil their new flagships in September, which would let them compete with Xiaomi from the start instead of launching a month or more later.
None of this is confirmed. DCS has a solid track record with Chinese launch leaks, but companies can still shift dates based on certification, supply, and component costs. Oppo’s Find X10, for example, has already cleared a regulatory step in China, with the company reportedly hoping for a late-September release.
