Vivo has released the T5 Lite 44W 5G in India, a new budget smartphone that prioritizes battery capacity and physical durability over display resolution.

The T5 Lite features a 6,500mAh battery. Vivo says that the battery is designed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. For charging, the device supports 44W wired speeds, which the company says can charge the phone from 1% to 50% in 38 minutes.
Alongside the battery, Vivo is focusing on the phone’s build quality. The T5 Lite 5G has an IP65 rating, meaning it is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets. It also carries a MIL-STD-810H certification, indicating it has passed specific military-grade drop and shock resistance tests. The phone weighs 209 grams and is 8.39mm thick.
The phone features a large 6.74-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak High Brightness Mode of 1,200 nits. But the resolution is capped at HD+ (1600 x 720).
Internally, the T5 Lite 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a 6nm octa-core processor. It is available in configurations with either 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD.
In terms of photography, the device is equipped with a 50MP primary camera on the rear, paired with a 0.08MP secondary lens. For selfies, a 5MP camera is housed within the display notch.
Beyond its camera capabilities, the phone includes a small RGB ring light on the back for notifications, along with other hardware features like a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The phone ships with Android 16 and Vivo’s Origin OS 6.0. The software includes several integrated AI features for text generation and audio transcription, as well as a Private Space feature for securing files.
Pricing and Availability
The Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G will be available in India starting July 22nd through Flipkart, Vivo’s online store, and offline retailers. It comes in two colors: Twilight Shadow and Wave Blue. Pricing is set at Rs. 19,999 for the base 4GB/128GB model, Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB/128GB version, and Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB/256GB configuration.
