The Xiaomi 18 Pro has surfaced in its global variant for the first time, indicating that Xiaomi is preparing to bring its next premium flagship to international markets. At the same time, the upcoming Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 has moved a step closer to launch after receiving another certification in China, revealing a key charging detail.

Xiaomi 18 Pro global edition surfaces

Xiaomi 17 Pro

According to XimiTime, Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, codenamed VENICE, has appeared in global databases with model number 26122PN61G, while the Chinese version carries model number M261DB. The listing suggests the Xiaomi 18 Pro will launch in several global markets, including Turkey, the EEA, Russia, Taiwan, and Japan. However, India is reportedly not part of the initial rollout. The appearance is significant because it points to Xiaomi releasing its Pro flagship outside China, unlike some previous models with limited availability.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is also expected to continue the rear display introduced on the Xiaomi 17 Pro, a feature that remained exclusive to China. Under the hood, the handset is tipped to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. For photography, leaks point to two 200-megapixel SmartSens sensors, including a 1/1.28-inch 3.0 LOFIC primary sensor. The phone is also expected to include a dedicated AI button for AI-powered features and camera functions.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 gets 3C certification

Separately, Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable has received 3C certification in China after previously clearing SRRC and MIIT approvals. The certification indicates support for 67W wired fast charging. Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station also claims the device supports UWB connectivity, the N79 5G band, and Xiaomi’s in-house AI large language model.

Recent reports suggest the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 could debut with Xiaomi’s Xring O3 chipset instead of Qualcomm’s next flagship processor. It is expected to feature a wider foldable design with a 7.5-inch to 7.6-inch inner display, a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 6,000mAh battery with wireless charging, full water resistance, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
