Casio is adding three new models to its rugged Master of G watch lineup this August. The new releases, spanning the Mudman, Mudmaster, and Gravitymaster sub-brands, are currently up for pre-order in Japan.
All three share a unified color scheme that Casio refers to as Master in Horizon Gold, which consists of light yellow gold ion-plated bezels, brown metal accents, and dark brown bands manufactured from bio-based resin.
Design & Pricing Details
The most expensive of the trio is the Mudman GW-9500MH-5, priced at ¥63,800 ($404). It is a fully digital watch that utilizes Casio’s duplex LCD, a display technology that overlays a digital compass on top of the standard time and measurement readouts to improve legibility.
Internally, it relies on Casio’s Tough Solar power system and Multi-Band 6 for automatic radio-controlled time calibration. It includes a Triple Sensor setup for measuring compass bearing, altitude, barometric pressure, and temperature, all protected by a dust- and mud-resistant Carbon Core Guard structure.
Coming to the next model, the Mudmaster GG-B100XMH-5A is priced at ¥60,500 ($383). It switches to an analog-digital hybrid display and features a stainless-steel bezel paired with a carbon fiber-reinforced resin case. Unlike the Mudman, it is powered by a standard CR2025 coin-cell battery rather than a Tough Solar charging system.
However, it upgrades the sensor array by adding a 3-axis step counter to the compass, altimeter/barometer, and thermometer. It also features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to sync the watch with the Casio Watches smartphone app for automatic time adjustment, location memory, and mission log tracking.
The final model is the Gravitymaster GR-B300H-5A, priced at ¥49,500 ($314). Geared toward aviation use cases, it drops the environmental sensors in favor of a straightforward, analog-only dual-time display.
It features a rotary disc indicator at the 9 o’clock position to show alarm status and battery levels. It brings back the solar charging seen on the Mudman while retaining the Bluetooth app connectivity of the Mudmaster for features like flight logging.
Availability
All three watches maintain Casio’s standard 200-meter water resistance and shock-proof construction. These are currently available for pre-order in Japan ahead of their official retail release later this month.
