Epomaker has launched the GX1, a new gaming headset that expands its PC peripheral lineup. It is priced at $49.99, with a launch discount currently bringing the price down to $44.99. The headset combines an open-back acoustic design with three connectivity options, targeting gamers looking for a versatile and affordable audio solution.

Epomaker GX1 Specifications
The GX1 is built around 50mm dynamic drivers, featuring a standard frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz and a total harmonic distortion (THD) of under 3%. The primary hardware choice here is the open-back ear cup design. In practice, open-back headphones allow air and sound to pass freely through the rear of the ear cups.

This typically results in a wider, more natural soundstage compared to closed-back models, which can be useful for directional audio in games. However, it also means the headset will not passively block out room noise, and whatever you are listening to will leak out into your surroundings. The device also includes virtual 7.1 surround sound processing.
Physically, the GX1 weighs 320 grams. It features an adjustable headband with seven positions and uses breathable leather for the ear pads. The exterior has a painted, electroplated finish and includes built-in RGB lighting.

For voice communication, Epomaker includes a detachable boom microphone equipped with environmental noise cancellation (ENC) to filter out standard background noises like keyboard typing or room fans.
In terms of connectivity, the GX1 supports 2.4GHz wireless with 25ms latency, Bluetooth with 34-200ms latency, and wired USB-C connections. It works with PCs, Macs, and Nintendo Switch, while PlayStation supports 2.4GHz wireless and Xbox is limited to wired connectivity.

The headset is powered by a 2,000mAh battery. According to the spec sheet, this provides up to 70 hours of use with the RGB lighting turned off. If the RGB lighting is enabled, battery life drops to 30 hours. Recharging the device from empty takes approximately three hours and twenty minutes.
The Epomaker GX1 is currently available for purchase in three color options: Black Grey, Pink, and White.
